"Helping children build a solid foundation for life by educating the mind and nurturing the spirit."

Our Staff and History

Montessori Directress
Cornerstone Montessori Children's House first welcomed children in 1997. Teacher Tami, its founder, completed her Association Montessori Internationale (A.M.I.) Teacher training in 1992, at the Montessori Institute Northwest in Portland, Oregon. (A.M.I. is the oldest Montessori organization, founded by Dr. Maria Montessori herself in 1939.) Teacher Tami went on to complete special training programs for both The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Musikgarten in 1997. She also holds a Bachelor's Degree from Pacific University. Her husband is a firefighter and has played an integral part in the creation of the school. They have two children.

Asst Teacher Teacher Connie has worked in the childcare field since 1988. She worked as a toddler teacher for eight years at a large daycare center. Connie began doing in home childcare when she had her first child in 1996. In 2002, she became an assistant teacher at Cornerstone Montessori. She is CPR/First Aid certified and also has her food handlers certificate. Teacher Connie has been married for 17 years and has two children.

The families we serve enjoy a comfortable, family-like atmosphere where the children are able to interact in a uniquely Montessori way. The low student-teacher ratio at our school also helps ensure that each child receives the individual attention they deserve. We offer an activity filled day that encourages the students' intellectual, social, physical, creative and moral development in a caring, nurturing environment. Most importantly, our Montessori program fosters a love for learning that will stay with your child for a lifetime.
